The 70 x 70 cm silk square is the intermediate size of silk houses: large enough for a triangle over the shoulders in summer, short enough to stay neat at the neck under a coat. Misciano 70x70 squares are cut from the same silk twill as our 90s, hand-rolled and printed in Italy.
The 70 x 70 cm silk square is the size you choose when the 90 is too bulky under a collar. Folded into a triangle, its point falls mid-chest, not at the stomach; folded into a five-centimeter bandeau, it wraps twice around the neck and finishes with a flat knot without excess. It is the size for blazers, pea coats, and coat collars. A silk scarf 70x70 is the size that stays neat under a collar.

It can also be worn on the head, tied under the chin Riviera-style or at the nape, and as a thin belt over a flowing dress. What the 70 does not do is cover the shoulders as a shawl: for that, you need a large 110 x 110 silk square.
Misciano's 70x70 squares are not reduced 90s. Each design has been composed for this surface: a central medallion intended for wearing on the back or chest, and a border that remains legible once the square is folded as a bandeau. The Clés du palais, Blason de minuit, Rose des vents, Phases de la lune, Zodiaque doré, and Hippocampes dorés have a strong center; the Ocelot doré, Toile de rêverie, and Papillons de minuit play on a continuous motif that ties in all ways.
All are drawn in the house's engraving style, fine lines and hatching, in palettes of navy, gold, garnet, bottle green, powder pink, and pearl gray on cream backgrounds. Each design bears the Misciano Paris signature in its border.

The diagonal of a 70 measures 99 cm: that is the length available for a triangle tie, twenty-eight centimeters less than a 90. This difference explains why the triangle's point falls higher and why the knot stays under the collar. Our guide silk square size: 90, 70, or 45 details these measurements.
The Misciano 70x70 silk scarf is cut from the natural silk twill of our 90 squares: same subtle diagonal weave, same density, same hand. The edges are hand-rolled, rolled and stitched with a needle, never overlocked. High-definition printing renders the engraving lines, and the dyes are fixed to withstand hand washing, tested to ISO 105-C06, and light, tested to ISO 105-B02.
Made in Italy, each square comes in its Misciano box. To tie this size, our article how to tie a silk square around the neck describes the thirteen knots that suit it. All the house's sizes are gathered in the silk squares collection.
Folded into a triangle, it covers the shoulders of a strappy dress in summer, but its point remains short in the back. For a true shawl, prefer the 110.
Two wraps as a five-centimeter bandeau, finished with a flat knot. One wrap if the bandeau is wider.
Some universes are available as twillys; the 70 designs are composed for this size and are not reductions of our 90 squares.
By hand in cold water with mild soap, without wringing; dry flat, iron on the reverse at low temperature.
