Silk scarf 70 Dream Canvas
A toile de Jouy in shades of blue on cream: garden pavilions, couples strolling, birds and foliage garlands echo each other in symmetry. The border of blue ribbons and flowers draws on the vocabulary of 18th-century indiennes.
The 70 x 70 is the neck format: folded into a triangle, it ties at the front or side without falling too low, and folded as a band it wraps twice. It can also be worn on the head, tied under the chin or at the nape, and as a thin belt over a dress.
The Wearing Experience
- The blue monochrome is soft: worn at the neck, the fabric reads like a blouse pattern.
- The scenes repeat symmetrically: whatever the fold, a pavilion or a couple remains on the visible panel.
- Folded into a triangle and tied at the front, the point falls mid-chest: that is the right proportion for a coat collar or a blazer.
- As a band, it wraps twice around the neck with a flat knot: the silk holds without a pin.
Know-How & Material
The Dream Canvas scarf is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill, 100% silk, the same tight weave with a discreet diagonal as our 90 scarves, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to creasing. The print is done in high definition, which renders the engraving lines of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn with a needle, never overlocked by machine.
The 70 cm is the intermediate format of silk houses: large enough for tying over the shoulders in summer, short enough to stay neat at the neck in winter. It is cut from the same twill as the 90s, with the same hand-rolled edge: only the surface changes, not the material. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk scarf, twill or satin.
Styling Tips
- Over a white shirt and jeans, tied as a loose necktie.
- With a sky-blue dress, as a bandana in the hair.
- Over a navy sweater, in a triangle on the shoulders for summer.
This format is found throughout the 70x70 silk scarf collection, the neck format. All formats are gathered in the Misciano silk scarf collection. To go further: tying a silk scarf around the neck.
Caring for Your Piece
This format is washed flat like a 90; the hand-rolled edge reshapes during drying, by gently pulling the edges flat. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; dry flat away from sunlight, iron on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk scarf.
