70 Silk Scarf Moon Phases
A full moon engraved at the center, surrounded by two circles of lunar phases, from crescent to new moon, on a cloudy cream background. The navy border unfolds the same frieze of phases: an astronomical almanac square.
The 70 x 70 is the neck format: folded into a triangle, it ties in front or to the side without falling too low, and folded as a headband it makes two turns. It can also be worn on the head, tied under the chin or at the nape, and as a fine belt over a dress.
The Wearing Experience
- The central circle is worn on the back or on the chest: the full moon falls at the center of the triangle.
- Navy, grey and cream: a sober square that replaces a piece of jewelry on a plain outfit.
- Folded into a triangle and tied in front, the point falls at the middle of the chest: it's the right proportion for a coat collar or a blazer.
- As a headband, it makes two neck turns with a flat knot: the silk holds without a pin.
Craftsmanship & Material
The Moon Phases square is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with discreet diagonal that our 90 squares, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to wrinkling. The printing is done in high definition, which restores the engraving line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn by needle, never serged by machine.
The 70 cm is the intermediate format of silk houses: large enough for a shoulder tie in summer, short enough to stay neat at the neck in winter. It is cut from the same twill as the 90, with the same hand-rolled edge: only the surface changes, not the material. Care for Your Piece
This format is washed flat like a 90; the hand-rolled edge reshapes during drying, by gently pulling the edges flat. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; flat drying away from sunlight, ironing on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk scarf.
