Small silk scarf 50 Crescent moons
A shower of navy and silver crescent moons, densely scattered on a cream background, with tiny stars between them. The very fine navy border lets the pattern breathe: it is a night scarf, without a gram of heaviness.
The 50 x 50 is the format for quick gestures: folded into a four-finger band, it ties around the neck as a short tie, on the head as a bandana, around the wrist, or on a bag handle. It never adds bulk, making it easier to wear than a 90 under a coat collar.
The Wearing Experience
- The dense pattern reads like a blouse print: tied at the neck, it passes for a silk collar.
- Navy on cream is the most versatile duo in the range: office, weekend, evening.
- Folded as a band, it stays in your hair all day without slipping, as the silk grips itself at the knot.
- At the neck, it slips under a shirt or sweater collar without bulk: it is the format you keep under your coat.
Know-How & Material
The Crescent moons scarf is printed in Italy on 100% natural silk twill, the same tight weave with a discreet diagonal as our 90 scarves, recognizable by its dense hand and wrinkle resistance. The print is done in high definition, which renders the engraving lines of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn with a needle, never machine-overlocked.
In 50 cm, the scarf is cut from the same twill as the 90s: same density, same hand. The difference is in proportion: the border takes up a larger part of the design, and it is what shows once the scarf is folded as a band. Designs in this size are therefore composed border-first. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk scarf, twill or satin.
Styling Tips
- With a navy blazer and a white t-shirt, tied as a short tie.
- On a cream dress, as a bandana in the hair, with the ends tied on top.
- At the wrist, over a watch, for a silver accent.
This format is found throughout the collection of small silk scarves 50x50, designed for the neck, hair, and bag. All formats are gathered in the Misciano silk scarf collection. To go further: wearing a silk scarf in your hair all day.
Caring for Your Piece
The small format is washed flat in a few minutes and dries quickly; it is the scarf you care for most often, because it touches your hair and skin. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; dry flat away from sunlight, iron on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk scarf.
