70 Silk Square Golden Alley
On a burgundy background, a map of Paris engraved in gold unfolds its streets around monuments, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Opera, up to a border of laurel and golden ribbons. The square from the Parisian house, in a night-time version.
The 70 x 70 is the neck format: folded into a triangle, it ties at the front or to the side without falling too low, and folded as a band it makes two loops around the neck. It can also be worn on the head, tied under the chin or at the nape, and as a thin belt over a dress.
The Wearing Experience
- The burgundy and gold is a theatre velvet accord: it dresses a black or camel coat with a single gesture.
- The city map in all-over requires no centering: each section shows a neighborhood.
- Folded into a triangle and tied at the front, the point falls in the middle of the chest: this is the right proportion for a coat collar or blazer.
- As a band, it makes two loops around the neck with a flat knot: the silk holds without a pin.
Craftsmanship & Material
The Golden Alley square is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with discrete diagonal as our 90 squares, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to creasing. The printing is done in high definition, which restores the engraved line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn by needle, never machine overcast.
The 70 cm is the intermediate format of silk houses: large enough for a knot over the shoulders in summer, short enough to stay crisp at the neck in winter. It is cut from the same twill as the 90s, with the same hand-rolled edges: only the surface changes, not the material. Care for Your Piece
This format washes flat like a 90; the hand-rolled edge reshapes itself when drying, by gently pulling the edges flat. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; flat drying away from sunlight, ironing on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk square.
