Silk scarf 70 Rose des vents
A large navy and gold compass rose occupies the center of the scarf, with four engraved cherubs blowing the winds from the corners. The navy border with scrollwork bears the cardinal points: a design of an old map, between a geographer's cabinet and a coat of arms.
The 70 x 70 is the neck format: folded into a triangle, it ties in front or on the side without falling too low, and folded as a band it makes two turns. It can also be worn on the head, tied under the chin or at the nape, and as a thin belt over a dress.
The Wearing Experience
- The central compass rose is worn on the back or on the chest: it is the medallion motif par excellence.
- The corner cherubs fall at the tips of the knot: each panel tells a wind.
- Folded into a triangle and tied in front, the tip falls in the middle of the chest: it is the right proportion for a coat collar or a blazer.
- As a band, it makes two turns around the neck with a flat knot: the silk holds without a pin.
Know-How & Material
The Rose des vents scarf is printed in Italy on a 100% silk natural silk twill, the same tight weave with a discreet diagonal as our 90 scarves, recognizable by its dense hand and its resistance to creasing. The printing is done in high definition, which renders the engraving line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn with a needle, never overlocked by machine.
The 70 cm is the intermediate format of silk houses: large enough for tying over the shoulders in summer, short enough to stay neat at the neck in winter. It is cut from the same twill as the 90s, with the same hand-rolled edge: only the surface changes, not the material. Styling Tips
- On a navy pea coat, tied as a long tie.
- With a cream dress, in a triangle over the shoulders, compass rose at the back.

Caring for Your Piece
This format is washed flat like a 90; the hand-rolled edge is reshaped during drying, by gently pulling the edges flat. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; dry flat away from the sun, iron on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk scarf.
