70 Snow Leopard Silk Scarf
A snow leopard drawn in engraving, standing on rocks, occupies a cream cartouche at the center of a pearl gray scarf. The border features the spots of its fur in a frieze, between two lines of snowflakes.
The 70 x 70 is the neck format: folded in a triangle, it ties in front or to the side without falling too low, and folded as a headband it wraps twice around. It can also be worn on the head, tied under the chin or at the nape, and as a fine belt over a dress.
The Wearing Experience
- The gray and cream is a monochrome palette that pairs with winter coats in gray, black and white.
- The central leopard is worn at the back in a triangle, or disappears in the headband folding in favor of the spotted frieze.
- Folded in a triangle and tied in front, the point falls to the middle of the chest: this is the right proportion for a coat collar or blazer.
- As a headband, it wraps twice around the neck with a flat knot: the silk holds without a pin.
Craftsmanship & Material
The Snow Leopard scarf is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with subtle diagonal that our 90 scarves have, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to wrinkles. The printing is done in high definition, which restores the engraving line of the drawing, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn with a needle, never serged by machine.
The 70 cm is the intermediate format of silk houses: large enough for a shoulder knot in summer, short enough to stay neat at the neck in winter. It is cut from the same twill as the 90s, with the same hand-rolled edges: only the surface changes, not the material. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk scarf, twill or satin.
Style Tips
- On a heathered gray coat, tied in a long tie, leopard visible.
- With a black dress, folded as a headband: only the spotted frieze shows.
- Over a white sweater and jeans, in a triangle on the shoulders.
This format is found throughout the collection of 70x70 silk scarves, the neck format. All formats are gathered in the Misciano silk scarves collection. To learn more: how to tie a silk scarf around your neck.
Care for Your Piece
This format washes flat like a 90; the hand-rolled edge reshapes during drying, by gently pulling the edges flat. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; dry flat away from sunlight, iron on reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in how to hand wash a silk scarf.
