Silk scarf 70 Golden Seahorses
Golden seahorses, blue coral and shells surround a large golden scallop shell placed on a navy medallion. The border of blue waves closes this marine cabinet scarf, between naturalist engraving and Riviera crest.
The 70 x 70 is the neck format: folded into a triangle, it ties in front or on the side without falling too low, and folded as a band it makes two turns. It can also be worn on the head, tied under the chin or at the nape, and as a thin belt over a dress.
The Wearing Experience
- The central shell is worn at the back or at the center of the chest: the navy medallion falls just right.
- Blue, gold and cream: the summer palette that remains elegant in winter with a navy coat.
- Folded into a triangle and tied in front, the point falls at the middle of the chest: that is the right proportion for a coat collar or a blazer.
- As a band, it makes two turns around the neck with a flat knot: the silk holds without a pin.
Know-How & Material
The Golden Seahorses scarf is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with a discreet diagonal as our 90 scarves, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to creasing. The printing is done in high definition, which renders the engraving line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn with a needle, never overlocked by machine.
The 70 cm is the intermediate format of silk houses: large enough for tying over the shoulders in summer, short enough to stay neat at the neck in winter. It is cut from the same twill as the 90s, with the same hand-rolled edge: only the surface changes, not the material. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk scarf, twill or satin.
Styling Tips
- On a white summer dress, in a triangle tied over the chest.
- With a striped shirt and white pants, as a band in the hair.
- On a navy blazer, folded as a pocket square, seahorse visible.
This format is found throughout the collection of 70x70 silk scarves, the neck format. All formats are gathered in the Misciano silk scarf collection. To go further: tying a silk scarf around the neck.
Caring for Your Piece
This format is washed flat like a 90; the hand-rolled edge reshapes during drying, by gently pulling the edges flat. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; dry flat away from sunlight, iron on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk scarf.
