Small 50 silk scarf Ink Peonies
Large peonies in navy ink open onto a cream background, the leaves and stems drawn with a line as fine as on a botanical plate. No figurative border: only a golden thread frames the square, to leave all the space to the flowers.
The 50 x 50 is the format for quick gestures: folded into a four-finger headband, it ties around the neck as a short cravat, on the head as a bandana, around the wrist or on a bag handle. It never creates bulk, which makes it easier to wear than a 90 under a coat collar.
The Wearing Experience
- The peonies are placed asymmetrically: each fold offers a different framing, sometimes an entire flower, sometimes a bud.
- Navy ink on cream is a harmony you can wear from September to June without thinking about it.
- Folded as a headband, it stays all day in your hair without slipping, the silk gripping itself at the knot.
- Around the neck, it slips under a shirt or sweater collar with no bulk: it's the format you keep under your coat.
Craftsmanship & Material
The Ink Peonies scarf is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with subtle diagonal as our 90 scarves, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to creasing. The printing is done in high definition, which restores the engraving line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn by needle, never serged by machine.
At 50 cm, the scarf is cut from the same twill as the 90: same density, same hand. The difference is in proportion: the border takes up a larger part of the design, and it is what is visible once the scarf is folded as a headband. Designs in this size are therefore composed border first. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk scarf, twill or satin.
Styling Tips
- On an open white shirt, loosely tied as a cravat.
- With a navy sweater, as a narrow headband in your hair.
- On a cream summer dress, tied to the side of the neck, point toward the shoulder.
This format is found throughout the collection of small 50x50 silk scarves, designed for the neck, hair and bag. All formats are gathered in the Misciano silk scarves collection. To learn more: wearing a silk scarf in your hair all day without it slipping.
Care for Your Piece
The small format washes flat in a few minutes and dries quickly; it's the scarf you maintain most often, because it touches hair and skin. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; dry flat away from sunlight, press on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk scarf.
