Ink Peonies Silk Twilly
Large peonies in navy ink and their fine-line leaves bloom along the cream ribbon, between two navy stripes. Derived from the Ink Peonies square scarf, this twilly retains its botanical design.
The twilly is a silk ribbon folded lengthwise with tapered ends: it wraps around a bag handle, ties at the neck as a fine necktie, at the wrist as a bracelet or in the hair on a ponytail. It's the lightest and easiest-to-wear silk accessory in the range.
Wearing Experience
- Navy and cream: the office and weekend twilly, the one that pairs as well with denim as with tailoring.
- The peonies, wider than the folded ribbon, overflow on both sides: the twilly is beautiful from both angles.
- Wrapped in a spiral around a bag handle, it stays in place without slipping: the silk grips itself and the flat knot finishes the spiral.
- At the neck, it ties in a small knot on the side or as a fine necktie under a collar: two loops are enough.
Craftsmanship & Material
The Ink Peonies twilly is printed in Italy on a 100% natural silk twill, the same tight weave with subtle diagonal as our 90 cm scarves, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to creasing. The printing is done in high definition, which restores the engraving line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn by needle, never machine-overlocked.
The twilly is printed on a 12 cm twill band, then folded in half lengthwise and hand-rolled on its edges: the finished ribbon is 6 cm wide and 90 cm long, with both ends cut on the bias. The design is composed for half the visible area once folded, and reads on both sides. Care for Your Piece
The twilly washes flat in minutes, dries flat by pulling the ends, and barely needs ironing: it's the easiest silk piece to care for. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; flat drying away from sunlight, ironing on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk scarf.
