Small silk scarf 50 Ink Peonies
Large peonies in navy ink open on a cream background, leaves and stems drawn with a fine line like a botanical plate. No figurative border: only a golden thread encircles the scarf, leaving all the space to the flowers.
The 50 x 50 is the format of the quick gesture: folded into a four-finger band, it ties around the neck as a short tie, on the head as a bandana, around the wrist, or on a bag handle. It never adds bulk, making it easier to wear than a 90 under a coat collar.
The Wearing Experience
- The peonies are placed asymmetrically: each fold offers a different framing, sometimes a full flower, sometimes a bud.
- Navy ink on cream is a combination you wear from September to June without thinking.
- Folded as a band, it stays in your hair all day without slipping, the silk gripping itself at the knot.
- Around the neck, it slips under a shirt or sweater collar without bulk: it is the format you keep under your coat.
Know-How & Material
The Ink Peonies scarf is printed in Italy on natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with a discreet diagonal as our 90 scarves, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to creasing. The printing is done in high definition, which reproduces the engraving line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn with a needle, never overlocked by machine.
In 50 cm, the scarf is cut from the same twill as the 90s: same density, same hand. The difference is one of proportion: the border occupies a larger part of the design, and it is what shows once the scarf is folded as a band. Designs in this size are therefore composed border first. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk scarf, twill or satin.
Styling Tips
- On an open white shirt, tied loosely as a tie.
- With a navy sweater, as a narrow band in the hair.
- On a cream summer dress, tied on the side of the neck, point toward the shoulder.
This format is found throughout the collection of small silk scarves 50x50, designed for the neck, hair, and bag. All formats are gathered in the Misciano silk scarf collection. To go further: wearing a silk scarf in your hair all day.
Caring for Your Piece
The small format is washed flat in a few minutes and dries quickly; it is the scarf you care for most often, because it touches hair and skin. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; dry flat away from sunlight, iron on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk scarf.
