Small silk scarf 50 Wax Seals
On the cream background, a crown of golden wax sticks radiates around red seals stamped with initials, like the seals that closed the letters of court correspondence. The deep red border, punctuated with medallions, frames the composition with the solemnity of a writing desk.
The 50 x 50 is the format for quick gestures: folded as a four-finger headband, it ties around the neck as a short necktie, on the head as a bandana, around the wrist or on a bag handle. It never creates bulk, making it easier to wear than a 90 under a coat collar.
The Wearing Experience
- Tied as a bandana, the red of the seals is visible at first glance and the dark border marks the fold outline.
- Folded as a narrow headband, it is the golden wax sticks from the center that appear: the scarf changes identity depending on the fold.
- Folded as a headband, it stays in your hair all day without slipping, the silk catching on itself at the knot.
- At the neck, it slides under a shirt or sweater collar without adding bulk: this is the format you keep under your coat.
Craftsmanship & Material
The Wax Seals scarf is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with subtle diagonal that our 90 scarves, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to wrinkles. The printing is done in high definition, which restores the engraving line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn by hand, never serged by machine.
At 50 cm, the scarf is cut from the same twill as the 90: same density, same hand feel. The difference is in proportion: the border takes up a larger part of the design, and it is what is visible once the scarf is folded as a headband. The designs in this size are therefore composed border first. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk scarf, twill or satin.
Styling Tips
- With a camel coat and cream sweater: the red becomes the only accent of the outfit, tied at the neck in a point.
- On a white shirt and raw denim, as a tight bandana on your head, winter Riviera style.
- On a black bag handle, folded as a ribbon: the seal motif unfolds along the handle.
This format is found throughout the collection of small silk scarves 50x50, designed for the neck, hair and bag. All formats are brought together in the Misciano silk scarves collection. To learn more: how to wear a silk scarf in your hair all day without it slipping.
