Small silk square 50 Porcelain Cameo
A checkerboard of small blue and white earthenware tiles, each bearing its flower, linked by a network of blue scrollwork drawn in fine lines. The cameo, from Delft blue to pale blue, evokes the tiles of an 18th-century porcelain cabinet.
The 50 x 50 is the format for quick gestures: folded as a four-finger headband, it ties around the neck as a short cravat, on the head as a bandana, around the wrist or on a bag handle. It never creates bulk, making it easier to wear than a 90 under a coat collar.
The Wearing Experience
- Blue and white goes with jeans as well as with a navy suit: it is the easiest square to wear in the porcelain series.
- The tiles, aligned in a grid, remain legible even on a very narrow fold: the pattern does not blur.
- Folded as a headband, it stays in your hair all day without slipping, the silk catching on itself at the knot.
- Around the neck, it slides under a shirt or sweater collar without bulk: it is the format you keep under your coat.
Craftsmanship & Material
The Porcelain Cameo square is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight diagonal weave as our 90 squares, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to creasing. The printing is done in high definition, which restores the engraved line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn by needle, never machine-stitched.
At 50 cm, the square is cut from the same twill as the 90: same density, same hand. The difference is in proportion: the border takes up a larger share of the design, and it is what is seen once the square is folded as a headband. Styling Tips
- Over a navy sweater and white jeans, tied around the neck as a short cravat.
- With a sky blue shirt dress, as a bandana on the head, points tucked in.

Care for Your Piece
The small format washes flat in a few minutes and dries quickly; it is the square you maintain most often, because it touches hair and skin. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; dry flat away from sunlight, iron on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk square.
