Blue Porcelain silk twilly

Blue and white porcelain vases, flowers and pagoda scenes follow one another on the ribbon, between two blue trellis lines. Derived from the Blue Porcelain scarf, this twilly keeps its Canton pattern.

The twilly is a silk ribbon folded lengthwise, with tapered ends: it wraps around a bag handle, ties at the neck as a thin tie, at the wrist as a bracelet, or in the hair on a ponytail. It is the lightest and easiest silk accessory to wear in the range.

The Wearing Experience

  • Blue and white: a summer twilly on a straw bag, a winter one on a navy bag.
  • The vases in file read like a shelf of porcelain unrolled at the wrist.
  • Wrapped in a spiral on a bag handle, it stays without slipping: the silk clings to itself and the flat knot finishes the spiral.
  • At the neck, it ties in a small knot on the side or as a thin tie under a collar: two turns are enough.

Know-How & Material

The Blue Porcelain twilly is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with a discreet diagonal as our 90 scarves, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to creasing. The print is done in high definition, which restores the engraving line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn with a needle, never overlocked by machine.

The twilly is printed on a 12 cm twill band, then folded in half lengthwise and rolled on its edges: the finished ribbon is 6 cm wide and 90 cm long, with the two ends cut on the bias. The design is composed for the visible half once folded, and reads on both sides. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk scarf, twill or satin.

Styling Tips

  1. On the handle of a basket or straw bag, tied in a loop.
  2. At the neck, on a white dress, in a small knot.
  3. In the hair, as a thin headband on a bun.

This ribbon is found throughout the collection of silk twillies, derived from the designs of our scarves. All formats are gathered in the Misciano silk scarf collection. To go further: the art of the scarf to enhance an outfit.

Caring for Your Piece

The twilly washes flat in a few minutes, dries flat by pulling the ends, and barely needs ironing: it is the simplest silk piece to maintain. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; dry flat away from the sun, iron on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk scarf.

Jersey dress

Mid-length, short balloon sleeves. Thick fabric that structures the silhouette. Very versatile, I wore it for work and for dinner with a friend.

Jean-Pierre

Red smocked dress

Smocked at the bust, very flattering for medium chests. Soft and lightweight cotton, pleasant to wear. I wore it for a birthday lunch.

Dylan B.

Voluminous dress

Very voluminous maxi dress that needs folding to store. I had to buy a long dress hanger. Otherwise no issues with the product, I'm happy.
