Small silk square 50 Golden Cages
Nine golden cages, doors wide open, float on a cream background while small grey-blue birds escape between them. The engraved line, tight and regular, gives each bar the finesse of ancient goldsmithing, within a border of golden rope trim.
The 50 x 50 is the format for quick gestures: folded into a four-finger headband, it ties around the neck as a short necktie, on the head as a bandana, around the wrist or on a bag handle. It never creates bulk, making it easier to wear than a 90 under a coat collar.
The Wearing Experience
- The free birds appear in the corners: whatever the fold, one of them shows on the visible panel.
- The gold on cream remains soft, without harsh metallic shine: a warm tone-on-tone that suits both fair and dark skin.
- Folded as a headband, it stays in the hair all day without slipping, the silk catching on itself at the knot.
- Around the neck, it slides under a shirt or sweater collar without bulk: this is the format you keep under your coat.
Craftsmanship & Material
The Golden Cages square is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with subtle diagonal as our 90 squares, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to wrinkles. The printing is done in high definition, which reproduces the engraved line of the design, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn with a needle, never machine-finished.
At 50 cm, the square is cut from the same twill as the 90s: same density, same hand. The difference is in proportion: the border takes up a larger part of the design, and it is what shows once the square is folded as a headband. Designs this size are therefore composed with the border first. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk square, twill or satin.
Styling Tips
- With a plain black dress: the square, folded in a triangle and tied at the nape, provides the only pop of color.
- On a sand trench, as a wrist scarf, two wraps and a flat knot.
- In the hair, as a headband on a low ponytail, to let the golden tips flow.
This format is found throughout the collection of small silk squares 50x50, designed for the neck, hair and bag. All formats are gathered in the Misciano silk squares collection. To go further: wearing a silk square in the hair all day.
Care for Your Piece
The small format washes flat in a few minutes and dries quickly; this is the square you maintain most often, because it touches your hair and skin. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; air dry flat away from sunlight, iron on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk square.
