A deep raspberry red, a twisted draped bust, and two mesh bands opening the waist horizontally. Red and mesh
- On the sand : The wide straps cross at the back and spread the support across the whole shoulder, without digging in.
- In full sun : Red is a colour that fades fast in a pool. This one is dyed through and holds chlorine, which not every red does.
- In the water : The two mesh bands are set on an elastic thread: they settle back into place out of the water, without slackening.
- End of the day : The knit dries quickly and the red does not darken as it dries, unlike thinner jerseys.
Two knits, one piece
The body of the swimsuit is polyamide and elastane, 82/18, the usual construction for the house's swimwear: dense, opaque even when wet, and able to return to shape. The mesh bands are set in and topstitched rather than simply bonded. That takes longer to assemble, and it is what stops them buckling after a few swims. The draped bust is built over a preformed lining, which holds its twist even wet.Treating a detail as a piece in its own right is how the house of Misciano works.
Where red works
- Against beige : Sand sarong, straw basket, nude sandals: red becomes the only point of colour.
- Against white : Open white shirt, raw denim rolled at the ankle: the simplest beach outfit there is.
- In the evening : A long black skirt over the top, and the swimsuit reads as a bodysuit.
