Matte black, the kind that doesn't reflect light
Cotton black is nothing like synthetic black. It absorbs light instead of reflecting it, it never makes creases shine, and it ages by developing a patina rather than turning grey in patches. This is the quality of black you look for in a skirt meant to be worn often, and it's the quality of this piece.
The Wearing Experience

Craftsmanship & Material
Composition: 100% cotton. On a black piece, this detail determines everything else. Synthetic fibres take deep dye baths poorly and whiten at seams from the first wash; cotton, on the other hand, is dyed throughout and keeps its colour density much longer, provided it's washed cold and inside out.
The construction follows the same logic as its beige rosé version: gathers distributed across the entire circumference to avoid bulk at the front, piped buttoned pocket inserted into the waistband at the back, side slit topstitched flat so it doesn't gape. Nothing is lined, and that's intentional: a lining on summer poplin would transform the skirt into a mid-season piece. - With a cream camisole and black flat sandals, the easiest combination of the whole summer.

Care for Your Piece
Gentle wash at 30°C, preferably by hand, and always inside out: this is what preserves the depth of the black. No bleach, no tumble drying, no dry cleaning. Iron with a cool iron on the reverse. Avoid drying the skirt in direct sunlight, which fades black cotton faster than washing does.
