A powder pink for weddings, without the risk of pastel
Powder pink is the safest colour for a wedding guest: striking enough not to look dull in photos, soft enough never to upstage the bride. Provided it doesn't turn candy pink in the sun. This one leans slightly towards beige, which keeps it elegant in daylight and evening light alike. The cut is simple: a gathered halter neckline, fluid cape over the bodice, A-line skirt at mid-thigh.
Wearing Experience
- A shade that holds in the light: its slightly beige base prevents the pink from becoming harsh in the sun or under warm lighting
- Bare shoulders, arms covered: the cape falls over the top of the arms and offers some sun protection for an outdoor ceremony
- A neckline you can adjust: it ties at the nape and can be tightened or loosened as you wish
- A dress that dances: the A-line skirt swings beautifully and stays in place when you sit down at table
Craftsmanship & Fabric
Composition, per label: fabric 100% polyester, lining 100% polyester. Here, polyester has a real advantage: a synthetic fibre dyed in the mass or at high temperature retains its shade, whereas a pale pink on natural fibre tends to yellow or fade with washing. The bodice fabric is a matt, supple crepe, the cape a fluid, slightly translucent voile: the same colour on two fabrics of different transparency gives the bodice a slightly lighter pink than the skirt, which adds dimension to the whole.
The neckline is built on a band collar into which the bodice is gathered; these gathers create fullness at the chest without visible seams. The cape is attached to the same collar and opens down the centre back in two panels, above an invisible zip, under a tie that fastens at the nape. Styling Tips
- Nude heels and pearl drop earrings: the wedding version, hair swept up in a soft chignon.
- Gold strappy sandals and small raffia clutch for an outdoor ceremony.
- Short tweed jacket or beige trench coat for evening, when the temperature drops.

Caring for Your Piece
Delicate wash at 30°C, preferably by hand, inside out, tie unfastened, with light colours only. No bleach, no tumble drier. Dry on a hanger in the shade: direct sunlight will eventually fade a pale pink, even on polyester. Iron on low heat inside out, or steam press at a distance.
