The same linen as the brown shirt dress, in trousers
These trousers are cut from the linen, tencel and viscose fabric of our brown shirt dress: same dry hand, same warm brown, same lighter slubs in the yarn. The cut is that of our black wide trousers, with a fully elasticated waist and straight leg ending at the ankle, with two side-seam pockets and two patch pockets at the back. Wear them alone with a camisole or as a set with the dress worn open over the top.
Wearing Experience
- A waist that doesn't pinch anywhere: the elastic runs all the way around, with no button or fastening: you slip them on, and the waist settles where it falls
- A front with no patch pocket: the two front pockets are set into the side seams, invisible from the front; the other two are patch pockets at the back
- A straight leg to the ankle: the width is constant from hip to hem, and the hem falls on the ankle, just above the foot
- Linen that stays fresh: the fabric is dry to the touch and lets air through; it creases, and that's the mark of real linen
Craftsmanship & Material
Composition: 50% linen, 25% tencel lyocell, 25% viscose. The linen gives freshness and texture, the tencel lyocell gives wash resistance, the viscose gives drape fluidity. It's the same label as our brown shirt dress, and the same shade: both pieces come from the same fabric.
At the front, nothing is sewn on the surface: the two pockets are set into the side seams, and their opening follows the line of the leg. From the front, you don't see them, and the front stays a continuous linen surface that lets the wide leg fall straight. At the back, the two pockets are patch pockets, placed high, under the elastic, with the lower corners cut diagonally: they stay flat when sitting. Brown is one of the shades where linen's irregularity works in the fabric's favour: the fibre takes the dye unevenly, and each lighter slub adds depth where black would show a flaw. Care for Your Piece
Delicate wash at 30°C, preferably by hand, on the reverse. No bleach, no tumble dryer. Dry on a hanger in the shade, flat at the waist, smoothing the pockets by hand while damp. Press with a hot iron on the reverse side, fabric still damp: it's the only time linen lets itself be pressed without effort. Brown retains the mark of perspiration salt: rinse a fresh stain in clear water.
