Four Laces, One Dress
A successful boho dress is recognised by the variety of its laces, and this one combines several, each in its place. An embroidered lace dresses the shoulders, crochet trims outline the V-neck and run down the bodice, a wide band of openwork crochet marks the empire waist, and a tulle embroidered with large floral medallions crosses the skirt at thigh height. The whole thing is buttoned from neckline to hem and ends in tiered ruffles down to the ankles.
The Wearing Experience
- Full buttoning: the small covered buttons let you open the bottom of the skirt to walk, or wear the dress open over a swimsuit
- An empire waist: the crochet band under the bust defines the silhouette high and lets the skirt fall freely
- Movable sleeves: full and gathered at the wrist by an elastic, they roll up easily over the forearm
- A light skirt: the tiered ruffles add volume without weight, the dress stays airy even at full length
Craftsmanship & Material
The fabric is a viscose voile, a light, supple cloth that falls straight and lets air through, the classic material of summer boho dresses. Viscose has a cool handle and a matte finish that brings out the relief of the white laces placed on top. The openwork panels, crochet at the waist and embroidered tulle over the hips, let the skin show through subtly without revealing anything.
The construction is that of a paneled dress: the lace bands are not applied onto the fabric, they are inserted between two layers of voile, which explains their transparency. This requires cutting the skirt into several tiers, each ruffle being gathered onto the previous one and the seam covered with a trim. The shoulders receive an embroidered lace with a scalloped edge, and a crochet trim borders the V-neck then runs along the button placket to the hem. Styling Tips
- Flat leather sandals and a straw hat: the holiday version, bottom buttons undone for walking.
- Camel ankle boots and a fringed suede jacket: the dress moves into autumn with a folk look.
- Worn open over a one-piece swimsuit, like a long kimono, by the sea.
It joins our long dresses and our selection of lace dresses.
Caring for your Piece
Hand wash in cold water or machine wash at 30 °C on a delicate cycle, dress buttoned, turned inside out and placed in a mesh bag to protect the laces. No bleach, no tumble drying: viscose shrinks with heat. Wring gently without twisting and dry on a hanger. Iron on the reverse at a medium setting, placing a cloth over the embroidered laces so as not to flatten their relief.
